Challenges!

A friend has put me on to the 100 Word Challenge for Grown Ups

This could make your brain ache!

I have come to this sadly late, but hopefully not too late. You might even want to join in too.

This week's challenge is to write four lines that scan with the very ditty I quoted a few days ago! You guessed it -

Remember remember the fifth of November
Gunpowder, treason and plot.
I see no reason why gunpowder, treason
Should ever be forgot…

Just to make life more interesting - or difficult - it can only contain 21 words and must include the phrase 'in winter we shiver'

I shall obviously have to think about this from a much, much higher plane, as all I have come up with so far is this:

In winter we shiver, shudder and quiver,
Temperature, headache and what,
Hayfever in summer, seasonal bummer,
There’s no escape from snot...

Sorry - that really has lowered the tone...

BTW - the link you put up was not correct but I found you & changed it for you!

  6. Chuckles galore! Noticed that even your 2nd and 4th lines mimic the original stanza and rhyme. Must have taken a while to get this right. Enjoyed it :)
